How do I remove dog hair from blankets and other soft fabrics?
The advantages of a warm and wonderfully soft blanket or hairy sweater are also appreciated by our four-legged pupils. Unfortunately, wool and fleece belong to the group of materials in which the dog's hair is cut particularly deeply. How to remove hair? You can try to pick up the hair with a damp hand or a damp rubber glove. However, you have to be prepared right away that this is a tedious and time-consuming task. Especially when we are dealing with an XXL surface.
Therefore, it is worth using a different method. First, shake the fleece or woolen fabric vigorously, outside of the apartment, of course. Then we use a powerful vacuum cleaner with a special nozzle tip or a laundry dryer. We put the textiles in the dryer on the lowest speed for five minutes. Then put them in the washing machine and wash them as usual. The hair collects in the fluff filter and we can easily remove it from there. Of course, we do not put other things in the drum, because when washing together, hair could also get stuck to them. We can only use an old, unused terry towel or nylon stockings, which absorb the dog's hair particularly well and pull it away from the wool or fleece fabric.
You can also get "anti-lint balls", which collect hair, lint and fur from the laundry during washing. They also reduce the risk of clogging the filters in the washing machine. After washing, repeat the process in the dryer. To optimize the effect, it is also worth using an additional trick and putting two or three tennis balls into the dryer. If there are still hairs left on the textiles after drying, you can use a special lint roller. At the end, we only have tweezers and the tedious but effective removal of one hair at a time.
How to remove dog hair from clothes?
In the case of various types of clothes, upholstery or bedding, the method of removing hair with a damp hand, a wet coarse sponge or a damp microfiber cloth works great. It is also enough to put on damp, but not wet, rubber sleeves and run your hand over the couch, pants, curtains or pillowcase. A rubber glove is an extremely effective weapon against hair. We wipe the fabric several times, and the electrostatic charge causes the animal hair to stick to the glove and clump into lumps. It is much easier to tear it off then. You can also achieve the Teflon effect by softening the fabrics during washing. A dog's coat does not stick so well to the smooth fibers.
A variety of pet hair removal accessories such as rollers and rollers with adhesive tape will do just as well. When it comes to removing a small amount of animal hair, some valuable helpers can be: painter's tape and a wide adhesive tape. After wrapping the hand with the tape, stick it and peel it off again and again until almost all of the dog's hair is removed from the surface of the material. A similar effect can be achieved by wiping the fabric with slightly damp nylon tights or stockings.

Removing dog hair from the carpet - what can we do?
In the case of a beloved carpet, a vacuum cleaner is the most effective - preferably with a turbo brush. A damp brush with rubber ridges is also helpful. Of course, special vacuum cleaners have a higher suction power and are more expensive than conventional models, but save time and nerves in the long run. However, we do not have to use special devices. Turbo brush attachments are available for the most popular brands. Makes it easier to collect hair from carpets,
upholstery and carpets. They usually have a convenient mechanism for removing debris inside the brush. When using this tip, be sure to use the most powerful mode of the vacuum cleaner. Rollers for removing hair are also great for smaller surfaces.
How to remove dog hair from furniture?
In the fight against hair on furniture, it is best to use microfiber cloths, towels or gloves. Thanks to their special structure, they perfectly remove both stubborn dirt and pet hair. The cloth (or glove) should be slightly dampened and then rubbed over the surface, taking care not to let the hair accumulate in the recesses of the furniture. After cleaning, simply put the cloth in the washing machine or rinse in warm water.
Remember that:
- The self-adhesive adhesive tape will fulfill its role only on small surfaces. We must take into account that the tape can leave traces of glue on fabrics or furniture.
- Some believe that a tablespoon of fat (tallow), added to washing powder, helps to clump pet hair into clumps and is easier to remove after washing. However, it should be taken into account that unsightly greasy stains may appear on washed textiles.
