That's about 80 small dog breeds around the world. In recent years, small dogs have overtaken many large breeds in popularity. Certainly, this is due to the many advantages of small four-legged friends, including, in particular, great strength of character. Observations show that the size of a dog does not play a significant role in its social behavior towards other quadrupeds. The toddler can also defend himself very well and show exceptional bravery. It is not uncommon for a small dog to be the leader among the household.

Despite the peculiar expression of his face, he has a cheerful personality, is very playful, friendly, good-natured and playful. In addition, it is characterized by a special adaptability and undemanding nature. The dog of this breed shows a strong bond with its loved ones and adapts to their rhythm and lifestyle. The French Bulldog does not like loneliness and loves to be cuddled and stroked. He is also very affectionate with children and other dogs. In emergency situations, the inner guard wakes up in him and tries to protect his household. However, he does not show aggressiveness and easily calms down.

Interesting: Due to the specific structure of the body (large, heavy head and quite short legs), the French Bulldog is a poor swimmer. That's why the traveler on the Titanic insured his bulldog Gamon de Pycombe for $750.

Despite its small size, it is an excellent guard dog. He can behave provocatively towards other dogs, even much larger ones.

Interesting: the Miniature Spitz has been popular in many parts of Europe for many centuries. He accompanied, among others, the British Queen Victoria and the painter Michelangelo. Currently, representatives of this breed often accompany celebrities and stars such as: Gwen Stefani, Hillary Duff and Sylvester Stallone. Even Elvis Presley had a Pomeranian named Edmund.

A dog named Uggie rose to fame in the silent film The Artist (starring opposite Jean Dujardin) and in Water for Elephants with Robert Pattinson. The smallest dog in the world, the chihuahua, was already known in antiquity, as evidenced by the images on the artifacts of ancient civilizations. It comes from Mexico and weighs from 1,5 to 3 kilograms. The title of the smallest representative of the Chihuahua breed has been held by a bitch named Milly, living in Dorado, Puerto Rico, since 2013. Milly weighs only 500 grams and measures only 9,65 cm in height at the withers. Immediately after birth, the female dog weighed 20 grams.
