Martingale collar - description
A martingale collar for a dog is put on by the head. It consists of a clamp loop and a main collar, the joints are made of cast metal frames. The lanyard is attached to a semicircle sewn into a clamping loop. In action, it resembles half-clamp collar, differs from it in appearance. The mechanism of the martingale collar is that when putting it on, it passes freely through the head, while after attaching the leash and pulling, the collar tightens to fixed moment making it impossible to remove the head from the collar.
The martingale collar is dedicated to dogs they have szI live wider than the circumference of the head - works as a collar for a bull terrier or a greyhound. Therefore, in order to choose the right size of the half-clamp, one should take into account first of all head circuit. The collar adjustment range given on the page corresponds to a tightened collar, the head circumference should fit within it.
Most often chosen for long-haired dogs (NP. border collie, Samoyed and/ or large breed dogs (NP. r, doberman), whose caregivers avoid plastic clasps.

Who is a martingale collar for?
Martingale collar (pronounced martingejl) has been designed for dogs that have a wider neck than the head and extend their head from traditional collars fastened with buckles. Its design differs from the standard collar in that it has a clamping element in the form of a loop - when pulled, it reduces its circumference to the moment set by the caregiver. Its job is to keep the dog safe, not to strangle the dog.
If your dog is another one the incarnation of Houdini and it has a tendency to magically release anything you wear it with, this is the solution for you. Martingale is the most common choice of caregivers greyhounds.
It is also useful for dogs with long hair - no more accidentally fastening the fur with a clasp!

The collar is solidly made. It is not afraid of a river or a mud in a meadow, everything is nice in the washing machine :) The colors are beautiful, they look as beautiful live as in the pictures.
