There are a few rules to follow when you decide to celebrate your birthday this way. Definitely, you cannot serve your pet such a cake that we prepare for our relatives, friends or acquaintances, because the "human" cake is full of sweets, while the one for the dog must absolutely be without them! Generally speaking, only ingredients that are safe and do not harm your pet's health should be used to bake a dog lane. Many recipes include flour or oatmeal, cream cheese, eggs, meat, and fruit or vegetables. For the sake of health, you should avoid sugar, and instead use fruit (such as bananas or blueberries) that provide enough sweetness in your dog's cake. You should also consider that most adult dogs are lactose intolerant. Therefore, in order not to expose your dog to stomach problems, it is worth reaching for lactose-free dairy products. The use of chocolate to bake a dog cake is also out of the question, of course, your pooch would not disdain accepting such a sweet gift. But unfortunately, sweets have a detrimental effect on the pet's body, especially chocolate, which contains theobromine, which is a toxic compound. Baking powders should not be used to perform dog delicacies, the excess of which in the dog's digestive system causes a loss of electrolytes and consequently leads to muscle spasms or heart problems.

To sum up, before we start making a dog cake, put away treats such as chocolate, frosting, caramel, cocoa, creams, raisins, coconut shavings, etc.

How to make a dog cake?

The preparation of a dog cake does not require any special kitchen equipment, all you need is a blender, a bowl, a cake mold, a baking sheet and, of course, an oven. You should prepare a dog cake for one meal, i.e. the gift should not be an addition to the daily portion, but become its alternative. When composing ingredients for a dog cake, you should take care of the taste rather than the appearance.

There are many dog cake recipes available on the Internet, but dog lovers agree that those made of meat are the most appreciated. It is important that the cake is made of fresh, high-quality meat, preferably beef or poultry. However, pork and game offal are not recommended. Meat ingredients go well with vegetables or fruit.

  • 1 tablespoon of oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon of lactose-free cottage cheese
  • Ingredients for garnish: 75 grams of liver sausage for the dog, optional dog treats.

It's best to do it with your hands. Line a 12 cm wide cake tin with baking paper in such a way as to prevent the leakage of the juice. Then pour the dough over it and bake the dog cake for 35 minutes. Cool the dough well, and then brush it with liver pâté sausage. Finally, decorate the cake with dog treats. It is best to decorate it with bone-shaped cookies.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Pour the flour into a large bowl and mix it with the baking soda. Then add the grated cheese, eggs, milk and oil and mix well with a mixer. Rub the round springform cake tin with a little oil and pour the dough into the mold. Bake the cake for 50 minutes, then let it cool for about 10 minutes before taking it out of the oven. Then, cut the zucchini into thin slices and fry in a pan with a little oil. Finally, sprinkle the dog cake with fried zucchini slices.

Peel the carrots and grate them. Then, cut the banana into small pieces and add them to the grated carrot. Separate the yolks of two eggs and add to the fruit and vegetable mixture. Mix everything well. Slightly heat the coconut oil until it becomes liquid and dissolve the shredded dog chocolate in it. Add the chocolate-oil mixture to the carrot, banana and yolk mass. Then add the millet flour. Mix everything well until you get a smooth mass. Divide the dough into two small springform cake tins (12 and 8 cm in diameter) to lay out the dog cake layers on top of each other. Do not forget to lubricate the molds with a little coconut oil beforehand. Then bake both patties for 35 minutes at 180 degrees. Take them out of the oven and let them cool. During this time, you can prepare the cream. Slightly heat the coconut oil to make it liquid and mix it with the lean cream cheese and yolk.
